Fab 5 Friday

Fab 5 Friday is where I flash five of my favorite things that have nothing to do with a Bucket List. This week it's pet peeves...........and yes, I have my favorites! And they are:

1. People who walk the wrong way on the walking track. It's like driving against traffic on the freeway.

2. Interpreting in movies. Yes, people have sat behind me in a theater and translated the entire movie for their non-English-speaking friend/relative/date. Wait for the DVD, people, and do that in the comfort of your own home.

3. Answering your cell phone while in the movie theater. (Yes, I go to the movies a lot...LOL) Everyone has forgotten to turn their cell to vibrate, but actually answering it? And talking? Come on. (This includes you, Sarge!)

4. People who work with the public, and have no personality. Don't apply for that receptionist job if you're a Negative Nancy.

5. When you hold the door open for someone, and they just walk through without any acknowledgment whatsoever, like you weren't even standing there, like it was your job to hold the door for them.

Ahhhh.........I feel better now. Thanks!

Oh, number five makes me crazy! If someone does that, I usually just say "You're welcome" anyway.

Problem is, then I start wondering if maybe they're having a bad and they're preoccupied etc and they normally would say thank you but...

And then I feel bad for being snippy. I'm such a wuss. :)

Ugh, I'm with you and Madeline. Number 5 is probably my biggest pet peeve. And like Madeline, I usually shout out, "You're welcome." Most people are either embarrassed and mumble thank you, though I've run across a few that just keep walking like they didn't hear me. I keep vowing to stop holding doors for others, but it's such a habit that I can't.

I know, I feel like a wuss, too, Madeline, but like Reads4Pleasure, I just can't break the habit of being kind to people.

Talking during movies? HATE it. Even worse, people sitting behind you who say to the person sitting next to them, "Here's what happens next..."

Why can't they just find out what happens next by WATCHING THE MOVIE???

Whew. Thanks for letting me vent. I feel better now.

I try to go to a movie in the middle of the day, and in the middle of the week. The less people there, the better. Worst are the older people, like older than me -- and that's pretty damn old -- who also have to explain the entire movie to each other. I'm with you. Stay the hell home and watch it on DVD.

These all seem like perfectly reasonable peeves to me.

Cathy, it's like they have no home training. I taught my children at an early age that we don't talk during the movie! So now that's one of their pet peeves. LOL

Jayne, That's why you're my girl. You're always in my corner. The perfect movie time for me is in the middle of the day. There's fewer people, and I sit waaaaaayyy away from everyone else. I can't remember the last time I went to a movie on a Saturday night. I'll leave that to those younger than me....and that's a lot of folks! LOL

yeah, I think it's a requirement that if you work with the government, you have to be incredibly hateful if you are going to work with the public.

LOL The DMV, the Post Office all have this requirement!
